Announcements & Upcoming Events:

Spring Testing Dates to keep in mind:       
April 30-May 25 - MAP Testing (Gr. 2-5)

Yearbooks for sale!  If you did not pre-order a 2011-2012 yearbook, extras will be for sale in the Parkside office beginning on May 16th while they last. They are $13 each and checks can be made out to Parkside Elementary.

Field Trips:  Grade 3 will visit the MN Zoo on Monday, May 21.
                     Grades 4 & 4/5 will visit the Faribault Energy Park on Monday, May 21.
                     Kindergarten will visit the Como Zoo on Wednesday, June 6.

School Planned Menus for June 1-7:

  • June 1: Mini Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Patty, Apple Sauce, Juice and the Alternate is Cold Tuna Macaroni Salad
  • June 4: Chicken; Alternate is Hamburger on a Bun
  • June 5:  Meatball Sub; Alternate is Turkey Wrap
  • June 6: Hot Dog on a Bun; Alternate is an Un-Crustable sandwich & a cheese stick
  • June 7: Sub Sandwich; NO Alternate

Track & Field Days: Grade 5 is Friday, May 25 / All Day at BCMS
                                  Grades 1-4 is Friday, June 2 at Parkside

The Last Day of school is Thursday, June 7th.  Report cards will be sent home with students - watch for them in their backpacks.

Looking for a great opportunity for 2012-13? Parkside Elementary and Northwinds Elementary Schools are looking for 2 part-time and 1 full-time K-3 Reading Corps tutors, respectively. This is not a district position, it's part of AmeriCorps. Calling all incoming 6th graders for Middle School 101

Get acquainted with the Buffalo Community Middle School through fun games and activities that take place throughout the building.  This class is a must for anyone starting at the middle school in the fall of 2012. Note: Students should not arrive before 8:30 a.m., as students are not allowed in the building before then, due to supervision.

The school day begins at 8:50 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. We have a 3-day rotating specialist schedule.

Parent Email Communication Notice

BHM Schools uses an email server to send out notifications to parents.  Messages being sent from the district are being blocked by some parents' email services.  This means you may not receive an important message from your child's teacher or principal. To avoid this, please make sure the email address campus@buffalo.k12.mn.us is not showing up in your "Junk Mail" folder.  You could set "*@buffalo.k12.mn.us" as a trusted message and that will allow all email from us to come through. If you use a company email system, submit the email address "*@buffalo.k12.mn.us" to your email administrator for white listing.
